Series of misleading events

VivoCity – Singapore largest retail and lifestyle destination.

and so, they really mean it!

How in Singapore I know?
Because I went there la? like not my first time anyway.

Everywhere your pair of eyes witness is like large. No matter how crowded the place is with kiasu aunties and uncles shoving their way through others like them, there’s still space for you to hinder yourself from an incoming bulldozer heading your way. Well, unless you’re one of them, please kindly warn people in front of you.

With the city comprising of the largest multiplex (Golden Village), count the shopping mall, rooftop water feature and other well-designated event spaces, no doubt that it is a magnet for curious people in Singapore and foreign visitors. With that in mind, you need good understandable English signboards and directory that can help everyone of us alike to navigate ourselves with ease. and I mean, English, not Singlish. Keep that in mind when you’re reading this misleading entry.

Before any of that comes to play, while waiting for my wonderful friends whom are all late, I chance upon a large poster at Harbor Front MRT Station.

Pirates of the Caribbean!

Like wow! Pirates of the Caribbean. Interesting movie, cool whacky characters but I didn’t know something was wrong with the poster until Siti and SJ arrived, late.

So you think there’s anything wrong with the picture?

I know, the picture is like too small for you to observe extensively but that’s the point. So you won’t be able to observe extensively. If not, the mistake will be so obvious. Let’s keep it in suspense for now and I’ll reveal it at the end of the post. (Don’t scroll down to cheat!)

HAHA!

Soon after the couple arrived, we moved our asses to VivoCity and devoured on our crave lunch because everyone was feeling hungry.

Seeing so many shops, I couldn’t resist my temptation to shop for what I need, again. That’s the main purpose of dragging them to VivoCity before Singapore Wind Symphony Youth’s concert at the Lee Foundation Theatre, NAFA to support Sandy and other RPWS members performing. Yeah, but at least they bought something too which don’t make me feel guilty.

and yeah! Finally a tee from NewUrbanMale. Yeah…… FINALLY!

and then we happened to pass by Best Denki if I’m not wrong? or was it some other electrical store? Aiyah, anyway.. there was this orang putih/ang moh (white people in malay and mandarin respectively) singing while playing with the keyboard and he sound pretty cool!

He’s camera shy I suppose.
His singing wasn’t that bad and so was his playing that it made SJ groove with it?

Parallel to the store, we saw Freshbox and I wanted to browse through the shop if I could find a shirt to update my wardrobe. I chance upon a shirt, newly arrived as the sales girl said. Tried it on and yeah, it looks weirdly nice but still weird to some extent. The crux of the matter is that SJ like it and that this is a rare thingy that she agrees to what I wear. The others still think it was weird but still it’s nice? So, I was like confused to buy or not to buy.

Buy or not buy or not buy or not buy or not buy or not or BUY! I bought it anyway because of the cost factor. $39.90 it is. Like other shops are selling $10 or more than that.

That would be the last item that I’m gonna spend during the GSS I hope!

We headed to somewhere (cannot be revealed until band camp) to get the gift exchange item. We had a fun time there and I almost wanted to buy fake flowers for Sandy for the concert.

I asked Siti:
Me: Eh Siti, should I really buy this fake flowers?
Siti: Hmmm.. I don’t think.
Me: I think so too but why ah?
Siti: Because it’s like not sincere?
Me: I thought of it too. Okay!

So guys out there, do not buy fake flowers for anyone or worst, your girlfriend!
(Tune to my next post about the meaning of receiving/giving flowers)

Anyway,
Something capture Hafiz’s eyes after we finished gift hunting; aquarium with fish in it!

and what else we saw?

No sitting! No Touch! So rude and so singlish!

at least, if it were to say
‘Please kindly do no sit at the ledge of the aquarium’
‘Please kindly do not touch the glass’

at least, that’s something not rude and people will obey by it.

In the first place, why in heavens did you put the aquarium there for? How about the kids that do not know how to read yet? Will they know? Unless their parents are there to discipline them. There’s really no enterprise skills for this person who put the aquarium as barriers for the Cafe.

Off we went to the concert, reached there 15 minutes early and the door was still unopened for audiences. I thought we were late and in the process, we rushed there like mad people. Crossing the streets even though there is no green man sign?

The concert was great! Their symphony no.1 Earth was good!
Sandy received real bouquet of white roses from us. She’s happy, everyone’s happy, all happy! (:

Prior to concert, while the couple headed home and Siti headed to Carlton hotel to search for her parents, we (SJ, Angus, Godwin and I) went for the Bugis midnight sale. We were hoping to get free popcorns and see what they’re selling.

and look what we found?

Closed

More closed shops!

WTH and it’s only 11pm? So much for 9pm to 12am midnight sales. Furthermore, it’s even on the newspapers that it was stated as such. Don’t you think it’s like misleading?

Waste of energy!

and and and I suppose you guys waiting for the Pirates of the Carribean picture?

Go figure….
